Raindrop Therapy
Raindrop therapy has been a helpful tool for many of my clients in regards to inflammation that aggravates back pain. I only use therapeutic grade oils for all of the raindrop therapies that I offer. The classic raindrop therapy includes 9 different oils. 7 are single oils , which are: oregano, thyme, basil, cypress, peppermint, marjoram, and wintergreen. 2 oils are blends called valor and aroma seize. These oils, when used in the proper order have helped many people due to there therapeutic properties. Here is a list of the oil properties:

My raindrop therapy treatment is reflexology centered as I spend most of the session massaging the feet with the oil application. Reflexology is a modality of bodywork that uses the reflex point on the feet or hands to access different areas of the body. For instance, in raindrop therapy everything is centered on the spinal area so most of the treatment is on the foot from the inner heel up to the big toe. If the oil is useful for the sinuses or digestion I also cover these areas if the person’s body indicates a need for it. I’ve been experimenting accessing the craniosacral system via reflexology and I am finding the work incredible. It appears to be deeply relaxing and helpful.
The next application of oils is for the spine area. I turn the person on their stomach and drop the oils from about 6 inches above the skin directly on their spine area. The travel time of a drop from the bottle to the spine activates the electrical properties of the oil making it more effective. After all of the oils are applied, and the skin is diluted with a vegetable oil, I place a warm wet towel over the back to drive the oils in the body more effectively. Remember that oils and water don’t mix and adding water to the skin will drive the oils in the body quickly. That is why I dilute the essential oils with vegetable oil. This does not decrease the effectiveness of the oils, it just slows the rate of absorption so it does not irritate the skin.
This is the basic information to understand what receiving a raindrop therapy is like to receive and what it does for your body. As you can see just the application of one of these oils can come in very helpful for a variety of uses. When used together these oils offer superb results. However, these oils are not for everyone. The phenol content is very high so people with sensitive skin may not do well with the heat of the oil application on their skin. So before a raindrop therapy consult with your spa attendant, or massage therapist to see if it is an appropriate treatment for you to receive.
